Harold And Kumar 2 gets rolling (up)
The boys are back on the bongs for a second hit
The sequel to Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle (renamed Harold And Kumar Get The Munchies over here since we don’t boast that particular fast food chain) was always on the cards following the first film’s success.
And now they’re back for a new caper that apparently kicks off mere minutes after the first film ends with the pair having met their need for post-dope snackage. Harold (John Cho) decides to follow the woman of his dreams, Maria (Paula Garces), to Amsterdam so he can proclaim his undying love. Unfortunately for the pair, a terror-fied passenger mistakes Kumar (Kai Penn) for a suicide bomber and the plane gets diverted. Cue a cross-country chase as the boys suffer the Deep South, Guantanamo Bay and trouble with cops and Feds as they try to get home.
The supporting cast includes a mix of people who cropped up in the original (including Neil Patrick Harris and David Krumholtz), and newcomers such as former Daily Show correspondents Ed Helms and Rob Corddry, plus the likes of Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) and Eric Winter.
Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, writers of the first movie, have stepped up to the double duty of also wielding the megaphone this time around. They started filming last week in Louisiana.
