Where to buy the PS5 disc drive: all the latest stock available now
Yeah, PS5 Pro doesn't have that

PS5 Disc Drive stock is actually looking pretty healthy in the US. PS Direct, Amazon, and Walmart all have the accessory on the shelves at regular MSRP - and this availability seems to be holding out well. Drives have been on the shelves for a couple of weeks at this point, though I still wouldn't take them for granted.
The official PS5 disc drive costs $79.99 / £99.99 and is a required PS5 accessory for anyone who wants to play physical games on a PS5 Pro or a digital edition PS5 Slim. The combined price of a PS5 Slim Digital Edition and a PS5 disc drive does exceed the cost of a full-fat PS5 Slim (with the disc drive permanently attached), so if you're on the cusp of picking up a console it's well worth spending the extra on the main release. Of course, if you're upgrading your system you've come to the exact right place.
I've been scouring the web for the retailers offering these hard to find drives - you'll find the latest updates from each retailer just below.
Recent updates
March 11 - PS5 disc drive stock continues to hold in the US, and Walmart's getting involved this week as well. While previously only offering price-inflated accessories, the big-box store has dropped back down to MSRP now. Things aren't quite so peachy in the UK, which is seeing a few price hikes of its own, but console and game bundles are available.

GameStop | In stock (if you're a Pro member)
The PS5 disc drive is back on GameStop's shelves, but it requires a Pro membership to buy and stock is sorted regionally. You'll have to be lucky, but there is a glimmer of hope here.
Best Buy | Check stock
Best Buy has also dipped out of the stock game, but I've seen units returning to these shelves more regularly than at other retailers. Keep checking back, because this could be one of the first stores to jump back in.

Very | Check stock
Very doesn't have solo stock of the PS5 Disc Drive, but it does have a Monster Hunter Wilds bundle ready to go. This package sends you home with a copy of the game and a drive.

Argos | Check stock
Argos works based on your post-code, so if stock dries up at larger online retailers today it's an excellent last-ditch attempt. Simply enter your post code to see if your local area has any PS5 disc drives in stock.
Amazon | Check stock
Amazon does have PS5 disc drives on the shelves in the UK, but this stock has had its price inflated. You're looking at around £130 for the drive - and that's not worth paying considering what else is available right now.
Currys | Check stock
Currys doesn't have any PS5 disc drives available by themselves, but there are PS5 Pro bundles including the accessory. You're not saving any cash here, but it does make getting the full Pro experience from day one a little easier.
ShopTo | Check stock
ShopTo ran out of stock a while ago, but was happy to keep backorders alive. That's now come to an end, with a firm 'out of stock' message on the site.
