Hans Zimmer assembling a supergroup for The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Recruits Pharrell Williams, Johnny Marr, Dave Stewart and Michael Einziger
As if the presence of Hans Zimmer’s wasn’t already enough to lift The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , the composer has managed to recruit something of a supergroup to help him score the forthcoming sequel.
Zimmer has signed up none other than Johnny Marr, Pharrell Williams, Dave Stewart and Incubus’s Michael Einziger to lend a hand to what promises to be a rather special soundtrack.
“Marc [ Webb ] and I were talking about Spider-Man, and as the word got out, so many of our friends and musicians started calling us up, wanting to be a part of it, because they love Spider-Man," said Zimmer.
"With all of these hugely talented people wanting to join us, it was Marc who said, 'Why not start a band?' Marc and I have had a great start jamming with everybody, and we still have a few surprises up our sleeve.”
A choreographed musical section in which Andrew Garfield dances through a Manhattan jazz club? Hopefully not. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in the UK on 18 April 2014.
