Hands-on with DS Browser

www.hotmail.com

Slow and muddled on the DS screen, Hotmail isn't ideal. "We'll just compose a quick email," we thought. Several minutes later, we were still typing in the first sentence.

www.youtube.com

A GamesRadar office favorite, YouTube loads and looks great, but the videos simply won't work on DS because of its lack of Flash support. No talking cats for DS then. Shame. A pointless visit.

www.myspace.com

Visiting friends on MySpace works surprisingly well on DS Browser. And their faces look oh so shiny too on DS Lite's sharp screen - just like real life then. But again, pages with multiple images can take a loooong time to load. But if you're into MySpace, you'll probably spend a lot of time on it anyway. Just don't expect movies or songs.

www.wikipedia.org

The online answer-to-everything-that-may-or-may-not-be-true encyclopedia works very well on DS, loading quite quickly and offering everything it usually does.

Justin Towell

Justin was a GamesRadar staffer for 10 years but is now a freelancer, musician and videographer. He's big on retro, Sega and racing games (especially retro Sega racing games) and currently also writes for Play Magazine, Traxion.gg, PC Gamer and TopTenReviews, as well as running his own YouTube channel. Having learned to love all platforms equally after Sega left the hardware industry (sniff), his favourite games include Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams, Zelda BotW, Sea of Thieves, Sega Rally Championship and Treasure Island Dizzy.
