Hancock controversy?
The new Will Smith blockbuster is having ratings issues…
From what we’ve seen of the trailers so far, Will Smith’s Hancock was shaping up to be another frothy summer action comedy from the oft-proclaimed King Of July.
But according to a post at /Film (which quotes a New York Times interview with director Peter Berg and his team), it might be a little more… adult that we were expecting. Seems the film has a much harder edge, including a dodgy sex scene and more violence than the film has suggested to date.
Still, don’t go in expecting all of that to remain intact – the film has now been back and forth between the US ratings board the MPAA at least twice and Berg has been trimming the more controversial scenes to get the movie down to a PG-13 across the pond. And there’s a part of us that really, really wants to see an unrated DVD…
