HaloRadar: Inside the New Maps
Bungie reveals why their bonus pack is must play material
FOUNDRY
GamesRadar: Can you describe how this map looks?
Steve Cotton, Multiplayer Environment Artist: It's a warehouse located on the docks of Voi (as seen in the campaign mission The Storm). Amidst the cranes, crates and spools of cable that make up the warehouse floor, some "God rays" shine through the skylights and large fans on the back wall turn slowly to cool the hot, dusty African air.
GamesRadar: Can you describe how Foundry plays?
SC: The trick with this map is that it can play like so many things, since all the innards of the map are made up of Forge objects. Of course, the default layout is asymmetrical and plays like a combination of Hang 'Em High, Turf and The Pit. With stair sections and crates that make up most of the routes.

SC: 3v3 Team Slayer or FFA. Any game type that I win, I also enjoy.
GamesRadar: What vehicles and weapons will dominate?
SC: Shotgun. And also something I like to call the "Cheap Trick," a Plasma Rifle/Mauler combo. Of course, the word on the street is that people aren't ready for it.
GamesRadar: What Halo, Halo 2 or Halo 3 map is Foundry most like?
SC: Turf and The Pit
GamesRadar: How is the map totally unique from anything else in Halo's history?
SC: Totally Forge! This doesn't mean that you have to even use Forge to enjoy the potential this map can offer. It just means that down the road as people are able to create new and cool game types in this space, all it takes is releasing a variant of the map to give people a whole new experience. Of course, we think the default setup is awesome. But Halo Soccer could be just around the corner.
GamesRadar: What will surprise fans the most about Foundry?
SC: That when you remove all the objects it's actually a pretty big warehouse. The screenshots also only show one or two possible layouts.
We've added so many new elements to Forge - ramps, walls, shield doors, man cannons - that this really is the ultimate canvas for Halo fans to create their own unique multiplayer experience.
