Vin Diesel's secret Guardians of the Galaxy 2 script shows what Groot is actually saying

Although he only had two lines of dialogue, the different ways in which Vin Diesel delivered "I/We are Groot" helped make the humanoid plant one of the most endearing characters in Guardians of the Galaxy. Groot will be back for the Guardians sequel next year - albeit in miniature form - and director James Gunn teased a special version of the script exclusive to only himself and Diesel:

"This is the special Groot version of the script that only Vin Diesel and I have, where every Groot line is printed in English instead of Groot, so Vin will know what the various ‘I am Groot’s’ mean. I love putting this thing together".

Check it out below...

Gunn also made an appearance on Diesel's Facebook page, where he revealed one of the core themes of the sequel:

"The first movie was really about becoming a family. This movie is about being a family. And what’s harder, becoming a family or being a family? I think it’s being a family. That’s where you really have to deal with each other. And that’s what this movie is about". Family, you say? Diesel probably approves.

If Diesel's reaction to the footage is anything to go by, Guardians 2 is shaping up to be something special. Here's hoping the first trailer drops online sooner rather than later.

Directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will hit UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and open in US theatres on May 5, 2017.
