The GTA Online Ghosts Exposed photo assignment has made a return for 2024, so once again you'll receive an email asking you to track down evidence of paranormal phenomena, only this year the spooks have moved from the sticks into the heart of Los Santos. This forms part of the current GTA Online Halloween event, but you're unlikely to discover any of these apparitions by accident as each only appears during a short night time window in certain places. To lead you through this process, I've found all of the GTA Online ghost locations along with their individual appearance times, so you can photograph them all and claim your rewards.
GTA Online Ghosts Exposed photo locations and times
- 7pm-8pm: On the roof of the church or on the lake island
- 8pm-9pm: In the homeless area beneath the underpass
- 9pm-10pm: On top of the water tank or behind the roadside memorial
- 10pm-11pm: On top of the bridge girders
- 11pm-12am: In the tower above the mansion
- 1am-2am: On the Raven walkway or hanging from the railway hook
- 2am-3am: In one of the towers of the large church building
- 4am-5am: In the tower on top of the large church building
- 5am-6am: On the walkway of the abandoned building
- Final Ghost Dom Beasley 12am-1am: On the slipway flowing out of the dam
There are total of ten ghouls you need to photograph to complete the GTA Online Ghosts Exposed event, which appear at the locations marked on the map above. Each ghost only appears for one hour per in-game day at the times listed, and there are two possible spawn locations for each ghost – but they are both close to each other. You need to document the first nine spectres before the final ghost, extreme sportsman Dom Beasley, appears by the Land Act Dam.
How to photograph ghosts in GTA Online
Once you've reached a GTA Online ghost location at the required time, you'll hear haunting sounds and the apparition will appear – if you get too close it will vanish, but back off a short distance and it should respawn. Now you need to open the Snapmatic app on your phone, which you can access quickly if you double-tap up on the d-pad, or just select from the menu. Take a photograph of the ghost and it will automatically be submitted to Ghosts Exposed, providing a notification of how many you've collected so far. When you reach Dom Beasley, the final ghost, wait around before snapping away if you have the time and you'll hear him talk up his extreme sports exploits.
GTA Online Ghosts Exposed rewards
For every GTA Online Ghosts Exposed photograph you capture, you'll receive GTA$40,000 and 500 RP, plus a bonus GTA$50,000 for submitting all ten, meaning there's a total of GTA$450,000 and 5,000 RP up for grabs if you complete this assignment. More importantly, you'll also unlock the Ghosts Exposed livery for the Albany Brigham, which combined with the stock 'growling cat' horn will basically turn that vehicle into the Ectomobile from Ghostbusters 2, along with the Ghosts Exposed outfit.
