GTA 5 voice actor teases new recording, the DLC could finally be happening

Rockstar may be making progress on that GTA 5 story DLC, even if it still refuses to speak of it. Shawn Fonteno, the voice and motion capture actor for Franklin Clinton, posted an Instagram image of himself back in the mo-cap suit, standing conspicuously before a Grand Theft Auto: Vice City poster.

"Shhhh.....YALL KNOW WHY I GOT THIS SUIT ON," Fonteno wrote in the image's description. That obviously leaves a lot of room for interpretation, though Fonteno has been upfront about working on GTA 5 DLC in the past. Rockstar, on the other hand, has kept quiet since teasing "substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin, and Trevor's action, mayhem, and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas" back in December 2013.

If motion capture work on the story mode DLC is happening now, it will probably be at least a few months before we can play it. But also keep in mind that there could be any number of reasons for Fonteno to share that image, overt captions aside: maybe Franklin will join Trevor as an NPC questgiver in an upcoming GTA Online update, maybe he'll appear in a standalone spinoff series like Episodes from Liberty City, or maybe Fonteno just thinks mocap suits are comfortable and pleasing to the eye.

Rockstar's added a ton of new stuff to GTA Online in the last year and a half, but it's kept additional plans for story mode so deep on the down-low that the CEO of Take-Two forgot about the whole thing. At least good old Franklin, er, Fonteno is keeping us in the loop... or just totally messing with us.
