Dial this secret GTA 5 phone number for inexplicable explosions
More than two years after it first came out, GTA 5 is still yielding secrets. This one is admittedly a little less thrilling than playing as Bigfoot or making a traffic launcher, but it is great if you're on the lookout for a new cell phone theme.
Accessing the secret is simple: all you need to do is pull up your cell phone in Story Mode, navigate over to the dialer, then punch in 1-999-367-3767 (or 1-999-EMP-DROP). As soon as you hit "send" a small explosion should inexplicably ring out in the sky nearby. Rather than frying all electronics in a two-mile radius, it'll just turn your cell phone theme black the next time you pull it up. Neat!
The contact name shows up as "Black Cellphones" (as opposed to "Sky Explosions") while the number is being dialed, and it doesn't appear to count as one of the GTA 5 cheats. There's no indication of whether this ties into something larger or if it's just a goofy little thing from Rockstar, but it seems to be a relatively recent addition; fans have long since scoured GTA 5's files for every usable phone number, yet this one only showed up days ago.
Maybe this will be the secret to finally unravelling the Mt. Chiliad mystery and finding the jet pack? It's about as likely as any of the other weird stuff Rockstar hid in this game.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
Rockstar co-founder's 6-year-old claim that he was "thankful" not to be launching GTA 6 during a Trump presidency has aged like milk
Former GTA 6 dev says Rockstar will currently be trying to "really tighten" the game "in every corner" right now, because "90% of your work" is accounting for players who don't do as they're told
