Grindhouse to be split, Kill Bill style

If you live in a non-English speaking country, you’ve got every reason to be annoyed with Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez and the Weinsteins.

Because the whole point of Grindhouse (fans get two flicks for the price of one, with a handful of free fake trailers in the middle) is about to be ruined by The Weinstein Company, who have decided to split Planet Terror and Death Proof for the foreign market.

The reasons for this decision haven’t been made clear – *cough* greed – but it’s rumoured that the brothers have decided that non-English speakers won’t ‘get’ the concept. Which is as good a reason to ruin one as any, we suppose.

Still, there are positives - the films will contain additional footage (that, admittedly, will probably turn up on the DVD) and if Grindhouse makes loads of money, there’ll be more chance of a sequel, won’t there?
