It's beenalmost a yearsince we heard anything about Grasshopper Manufacture's XBLA and PSN retro steam-future styled action game Sine Moria, so long that we’d nearly forgotten about it. But today the skies opened up we got the we got the first trailer for the title. The game is being co-developed by Budapest-based Digital Reality, which might explain why at first glance it’s not feeling as frantic asother upcoming Grasshopper games.
We don't know much more about Sine Moria than what's in the video, but we can say when the game was announced, it promised to include a “unique time manipulation mechanic,” which is perhaps alluded to when the trailer flashes between different looking versions of the same map. That would also explain the heavy-handed “what would you do if you knew exactly how much time you had left?” the narrator squeezes into the final few seconds.
The Grasshopper team is headed by CEO Suda51 (Goichi Suda), who has been known in the past for taking risks in game development by holding his edgy and often hyper-violent style above all else, particularly with the No More Heroes series and the controversial PS2 and GameCube game Killer7, but this one looks a little more down to earth.
According to the trailer, Sine Moria will be available for download this winter.
