Goonies star joins SFX at Collectormania 14 [UPDATED]

Remember Chunk from The Goonies ? Of course you do. If you want to see him live in the flesh and impress him with your own version of the Truffle Shuffle, get on down to Collectormania 14 next weekend!

If you're not already planning your trip to Milton Keynes, perhaps you should start! From Friday 26-28 September, SFX will be at Collectormania along with many sci-fi fans and guest stars such as John Rhys Davies and Michael Rosenbaum. We'll have ourselves a stand with a whole bunch of goodies and activities on offer.

Chief among those will be Chunk ( Jeff Cohen ) out of the Goonies judging a live Truffle Shuffle competition at the SFX stand at 2pm on Saturday and again at 2pm on Sunday ! There will be prizes (copies of The Goonies on Blu-ray, plus a fantastic SFX goody-bag for the very best of all during the weekend) for the people he thinks do the finest Truffle Shuffle impression. Wear your loudest Hawaiian shirt and come on down! The overall winner will get his or her picture taken with Chunk, to be published on this SFX website (and space permitting in the news section of the mag).

What, you want more? Okay then! Swing by the SFX stand and from Friday we'll be selling the new issue (175) as well as giving away free SFX badges. We've got a lot of spot prizes and goody-bags during the course of the weekend (including Robot Chicken on DVD and Russell T Davies's new book) so swing by regularly to see what's on offer.

You'll be able to meet some of the team (Dave B, Adrian, Leah and various other participants in the world of SFX will be on hand to chat and answer questions about the mag) and all day Sunday you'll be able to get your photo taken and put onto a faux SFX cover which we'll print out for you to take away. There'll be just a £5 charge for this, assuming it all goes smoothly - a big thanks to Canon for loaning us the equipment. Swing by the stand on Sunday 28 September for further announcements.

As a little taster of what you might see, here's a short trailer featuring snaps from SFX's appearances at previous Collectormania and London Film and Comic Con events. Thanks to Showmasters and forum user ChrisMK for additional pics. Click below...

This is all taking place in the centre:mk, the main shopping mall in Milton Keynes (come to the central hall by John Lewis) where the show itself also has autograph sessions with loads of people, including folk like Firefly's Morena Baccarin, Battlestar's Jamie Bamber and Mark Sheppard, and several familiar faces from Buffy and Star Trek. Of course there will be the usual dealers' tables so if you're in the market for new Doctor Who toys or signed memorabilia, it's the place to be. Find out more at the official Collectormania website .

See you there, folks! If you want to find out if other SFX readers are attending, why not chat about your plans on our forum ?
