GoldenEye Reloaded: Activision announces release date and PS3-exclusive version
Moonraker villain and weapon become Sony-exclusive downloads
A release date has been set for GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of last year's GoldenEye 007. The game will launch on Nov 1 of this year. PlayStation 3 owners will have the choice of the regular title or the PS3-exclusive Double 'O' edition of the game, which celebrates the game's PS Move optimization with bundled-in Move controller, EyeToy and Sharpshooter peripherals. The PS3 version of the game will also feature exclusive downloadable multiplayer content.
The title's twisted history means the game's long overdue for Xbox 360 players, who've long felt Microsoft's acquisition of Rare in 2002 ought to mean the storied N64 original could move onto 360. Last year's Perfect Dark Arcade (a remake of the game's spiritual successor) was a pretty great consolation prize for XBLA players, whereas PlayStation fans have long been denied any sort of Rare-derived thrills.

To make up for this, Sony fans will be able to download a character and weapon designed exclusively for the title. Hugo Drax, the villain from 1979's Moonraker, will be added to the PS3 roster of playable characters for both online and offline multiplayer, together with his signature Moonraker laser pistol – which was available in the original, but looks slightly less goofy this time around.
