Godzilla 2 gets a 2018 release date
Mark down 8 June in the diary
Godzilla 2 is hulking its way over the horizon, with Legendary and Warner Bros. confirming an official release date for the monster-filled sequel.
The follow-up to Gareth Edwards’ successful franchise reboot has been pencilled in for 8 June 2018, giving it free rein to trample all over its summer competition.
That timeline will likely see Edwards move straight back to the franchise after working on his Star Wars spin-off, which is currently slated for a 16 December 2016 release date.
Details concerning the plot of Godzilla 2 remain relatively scarce, although we do know that Rodan, Mothra and Ghidora will all feature in some capacity.
Plenty for the giant lizard to keep himself busy with, then. No human casting has been confirmed as yet, but hopefully there will be further developments on that front over the coming months…
