Watch God of War 3 Remastered in 1080p and 60 frames per second
Sony's served up a 10-minute video showing off God of War 3 Remastered, showing the spruced-up boss encounter with Hades at 1080p and 60 frames per second. Make sure you hit those YouTube settings and make the proper selections for optimal blood and carnage detail.
If you can't recall the fight, it's the one where Kratos literally carves off parts of the dude's torso, then Juliennes the meaty chunks before Hades can stick them back on. Seeing it run at 60 frames per second really adds some anatomical immediacy to the fight that wasn't present in the PS3 version, by which I mean I just saw Hades' small intestine and I'm feeling a little bit queasy now.
God of War 3 Remastered will release on July 14 in the US and July 17 in the UK. Customers who pre-order in the US will also receive free 90-day PlayStation Now rentals for God of War 1 and 2 starting next week, which is a pretty clever way to get series newcomers up to speed in time for Kratos' climactic clash with the gods. All pre-orders will also receive a dynamic PS4 theme.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
This new indie D&D campaign setting brings Studio Ghibli and Zelda: Breath of the Wild aesthetics and worldbuilding to the tabletop RPG, and I'm already scheming hard as a DM
I've seen enough: Assassin's Creed Shadows will beat Black Flag as my favorite AC game as Ubisoft says it lets you "Naruto run" as the "fastest Assassin" it's ever made
