God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seeds are in two halves - and when found, allow you to access the Crucible, the fiery gauntlet of challenges. Muspelheim in God of War Ragnarok has a wholly optional section that serves as a way for Kratos to test his strength and intelligence alike, but you'll need both seed halves to open the portal there if you want to try it yourself. If you think you're ready for such a fiery experience, here's all the God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed locations for you to find - don't worry though, there's not many of them.

There are two God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed halves for players to find, both of which are in the Bay of Bounty area to the North of Svartalfheim. You can't just grab then when you want though as they're not that close together, and are separated by story events so you can only really reach them when you're alllowed. You'll need some God of War Ragnarok special equipment for example.

Here's where to find each half of the God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim Seed:

  1. The first Muspelheim Seed Half is just North of Modvitnir's Rig, on the West side of the Bay. You'll probably find it during the In Service of Asgard Favor, not long after the God of War Ragnarok waterwheel block puzzle. Climb the scaffolding and wooden structures and you'll reach a platform with some Wild Wretches, with a giant crane ahead of you. The Legendary Chest in full view here has the first half of the special Yggdrasil Seed to Muspelheim.
  2. The second Muspelheim Seed Half won't be obtainable until you've obtained the Draupnir Spear later in the campaign. Head to Dragon Beach on the East side of the Bay and dock your boat. Climb the Northern scaffolding by means of the hanging chain, then use Draupnir in the wind hole to form a ledge to climb up. From here, head inland and turn North at the statue into the cave system known as Alberich Hollow. On the right is a legendary chest encased in ragged gold material - use the nearby Fire Bomb dispenser to blow up the gold and get at the chest for the second Seed half.

Of course, while you're in the Bay, make sure to grab several God of War Ragnarok Treasure Maps found in the area to make your trip more profitable.

With the complete seed, you can visit the Crucible and take part in the God of War Ragnarok Muspelheim challenges and combat trials

Once you have both Muspelheim Seeds you can reach the Crucible by heading through any Mystic Gateway. Select Muspelheim from the available Realms, and then travel to the Crucible in the northwest corner of the map. This will let you run various gauntlet and earn special rewards by completing a range of combat challenges.

Later you'll also get to other parts of the realm when you reach a specific point in the main campaign, roughly two thirds of the way through the game (if you're wondering how long that is, check out our page on How long is God of War Ragnarok).

Other God of War Ragnarok Realm Seeds are given to the player at key moments in the story, so it's only the Muspelheim seed that are technically optional and part of a side quest.

Once you've finished the story you'll also receive a bag of seeds that can be used to unlock most of the Mystic Gateways you've missed, letting you get around much quicker and to areas that are otherwise inaccessible. We've got a fairly spoiler heavy God of War Ragnarok ending explainer that covers that and a few other things that happen once the credits roll.
