The God of War Ragnarok Lost Treasury puzzle has a giant circular shield players roll from side to side to access the Treasury itself. The Sigrun's Curse favor and side quest is all about getting inside, and there's plenty of loot to be had if you can, but many players find themselves getting stuck at the door. If you want to get inside and crack the puzzle of the Lost Treasury in God of War Ragnarok, we'll explain how to make it past the entrance.
Where to find the Lost Treasury Vault Keys in God of War Ragnarok
Finding the Derelict Outpost location on the southwest side of the Lake of Nine will begin the Sigrun’s Curse Favor in God of War Ragnarok. At the entrance to the outpost Mimir will comment on a painted crest, saying it belongs to Sigrun’s home of Fjoturlund. This will start the side mission which involves finding “clues of Sigrun’s past” that are actually two halves of a broken Fjoturlund Vault Key. Once you have both those parts you can get inside the main room of the Lost Treasury, so get them before you try to open the main entrance to the Treasury.
You can find those vault key halves on the map above, in these Midgard locations:
- Derelict Outpost: Work your way through the Derelict Outpost to reach the shrine at the top to get the key.
- The Oarsmen: Go to The Oarsmen in the northeast of the Lake of Nine and get through the area. You’ll eventually loop back to the entrance by raising a gate and you’ll find the other key half nearby. This also allows you to unlock one of the God of War Ragnarok Nornir Chests too.
God of War Ragnarok Lost Treasury puzzle solution
When you get to the Lost Treasury, which is southwest of the Lake of Nine and directly east of the Derelict Outpost, you'll find the giant shield from Tyr’s statue is blocking the gate. You'll need to move it around to both access the gate behind it, and freeze some gears to then keep it open.
In order to solve this puzzle and open the Lost Treasury you'll have to do the following:
1. Start by grappling the shield at the red marker with your Blades, and move it to the right.
2. Climb up and across the shield to get on to the treasury’s roof on the right.
3. Hit the flaming pot to clear the gold slag material from the stone pillar, causing it to collapse.
4. The collapsed pillar will also revealed a doorway leading to the rest of the treasury’s roof. Go through this doorway and get to the other side of the roof, then drop down back to the shield.
5. Grapple the shield again and this time move it all the way to the left and then climb up it again to get back to where you just were.
6. Run back along the roof to the collapsed pillar and grapple it so you can move it into a position that will affect how the the shield moves.
7. Go back down to ground level and move the shield back to the right. The pillar will now hold the shield in the middle, allowing you to see both gears at the same time.
8. Use the large wheel in front entrance to the gates, then without letting go hit one of the gears with a Sigil Arrow and then the Leviathan Axe to freeze it. Quickly recall the axe and hit the other gate gear to freeze it. This will hold both gates open but only briefly, so run inside!
9. Once inside the treasury you'll be able to see a gold Legendary and a chain that will pull the gates shut when the gears unfreeze. Recall the axe and then use it to break the chain to permanently open both gates.
To loot the Lost Treasury burn down the red vines and use the vault key to open the door to get inside, although watch out for the Traveler Champion enemy that will be waiting for you - it's a tough fight in a small area. Once they’ve gone, read the Lore Marker in this room to complete the Sigrun’s Curse Favor and you can then raise the nearby gate to open an exit out of the Lost Treasury.
There are a few other things to loot in here too: there's a Legendary Chest which contains a whetstone for upgrading Freya’s sword, for example, an Accessory, a brazier for a nearby Nornir Chest, and a Lore Scroll buried in the floor. To get the scroll you'll have to climb the south wall and then turning around to grapple the floor to crash through it and expose a new area.
