Four years after leaving school, seven south London friends are pinning their future hopes on the success of their jazz-jungle band. But when the brightest of the group is seriously injured in an accident, relationships fracture and lives begin to change.
While it's great to see a promising multi-racial cast get their teeth into a meaty drama, there's no escaping the feeling that the whole thing would have worked better as a TV series, where neglected characters, like Anjela Lauren Smith's accidently pregnant Sherri, could have been more developed. The script is patchy and its need to find a happy solution for one of the least like-able characters, rich boy Sam, doesn't help. At least the music is original, vocals courtesy of rising R 'n' B star Hinda Hicks.
