Ghosts 'n Goblins: Full Access Playthrough

Readers of GR are no doubt familiar with the ridiculously ancient Ghost n%26rsquo; Goblins, if for no other reason than its hero, Arthur, mightily represents his maker in the upcomingMarvel vs. Capcom 3. But how many of you have actually played it? While the multiplatform title is certainlyrecognizable to gamers across the board, that%26rsquo;s mostly because it%26rsquo;s renowned for being one of the most difficult titles of all goddamned time!

Well, Ghosts 'n Goblins hit the Wii%26rsquo;s Virtual Consoles today, and Mike Grimm proudly boasted he and the game share such a history,there%26rsquo;s no way he won%26rsquo;t be able finish it in a single sitting. Oh boy%26hellip; do we love a challenge!

Above: You too will feel naked and vulnerable while playing Ghosts n' Goblins

Surprise #1: It%26rsquo;s the Arcade version, which is nearly identical port of the NES game, yet bound to presentsome unexpected %26ldquo;nuances%26rdquo; (and it costs $3 more than most would expect.) Surprise #2: Remember how hard this game was? Yeah, it%26rsquo;s actually EIGHT BILLION TIMES HARDER than that! Sure we%26rsquo;ve got our fair share ofaffection for the GnG%26hellip; but we can%26rsquo;t honestly recommend it to anyone who isn%26rsquo;t a total masochist, trying to break a Guinness Record, or attempting to star in a "King of Kong meets Saw" type of documentary. Whatever, 800 Wii points are all you needto experience the splendid dose of nostaglic pain for yourself.
