We'resuper grateful for Telltale, who have created, albeit not single-handedly, a new renaissance in adventure games. After proving themselves with several seasons of Sam %26amp; Max, as well as a Monkey Island revival, the company is gearing up to promote their new Back to the Future pseudo-sequel game by giving it away (at least part of it).
Over atTelltale's site, adventure game and BttFfans can sign up to receive the first episode of Back to the Future: The Game for free. Telltale are one of the few developers to do episodic content right, and they typically release a single game over the course of several months. Each %26ldquo;whole-game%26rdquo; is called a season, and is later sold as a package.
If you're still debating whether it's worth the time to revisit the world of gigawatts and flux capacitors, you can check out these %26ldquo;making of%26rdquo; videos. They offer a cool look at the development of the game (if you can ignore the Telltale staff reading off teleprompters, trying to act like they're speaking off the cuff.)
