Get ready for Halloween with frightful films on Horror Channel

Halloween is upon us and Horror Channel is your go-to destination for horror content during the spooky season, with fantastically fearful films and series that will both entertain and terrify.

All Hallow's Eve draws near, and you're in need of a good scare, so tune in for a curated mix of dark and suspenseful cinema that will keep your fear levels high all long. The horror content will lead straight up to an especially terrifying Halloween double-bill on Halloween night, with a showing of The Hallow followed by Fright Fest. There's even a night where you'll get a chance to revisit iconic horror film The Evil Dead, which greatly influenced the genre and spawned several sequels (each more wild than the next).

There's terror at every turn on Horror Channel the rest of this month, so remember, we've got you covered when it comes to gore, scares, and suspense. We don't want you missing all the horrifying fun, but steel yourself, as there's evil afoot.

Here's the entire Horror Channel Halloween movie lineup, with details on when to tune in:

The Ascent - 24 October @ 21:00
After a violent (and quite frankly evil) encounter with civilians, a spec-ops squad known as Hell's Bastards ends up trapped in an endless, nerve-wracking stairwell. To survive, they must revisit past sins to ascend and escape the staircase, which seemingly leads to nowhere - or perhaps, Hell.

The Brood - 24 October @ 22:35
The Somafree Institute of Psychoplasmics and its sinister cult leader Dr. Raglan use extreme and controversial methods to unleash patients' rage. This rage often manifests in bizarre and terrifying physical ways. Cults are scary, but cults that cause people to go on horrifying and violent frenzies are terrifying.

The Resident - 25 October @ 21:00
It's everyone's greatest fear made manifest: you are not alone in your home. A young Brooklyn doctor suspects she may not be alone in her brand-new loft, and soon learns her landlord has developed a terrifying obsession with her. As if her experience with NYC real estate wasn't already scary, now she's got a stalker to deal with.

The Evil Dead - 28 October @ 22:50
Sam Raimi's classic supernatural horror film sees five friends travel to a remote cabin in the woods where they find and play a strange cassette. This tape releases demons which possess them one-by-one until only one is left fighting to survive. An absolute must-watch, full of ridiculous gore and unforgettable scenes.

Hellraiser - 29 October @ 22:45
A couple moves into an old house just to find the man's brother (who is his wife's former lover) has become a hideous beast. He demands the woman bring human sacrifices to help make him whole again, and she obliges, because she still fancies him. Modern relationships are complicated, but this one takes the bloody cake.

Horror Channel Halloween Double-Bill

The Hallow - 31 October @ 21:00
A conservationist goes to Ireland with his wife and their young child to survey a forest believed by superstitious locals to be hallowed ground. If you know anything about horror you know this: listen to the superstitious locals. He doesn't, and   disturbs a horde of demonic creatures who prey upon those unfortunate enough to be lost in the forest. To protect his family and escape, he must fight these horrifying creatures.

Fright Fest - 31 October @ 22:55
The Mayor of Sommerton decides to put on a live Fright Fest event within the walls of a long-abandoned psychiatric hospital - this sounds like a bad idea from the start, but that's how all good horror movies begin. Naturally, blood flows freely when a van of escaped prisoners crashes outside the hospital and its passengers trickle in. The trick-or-treaters think their murderous antics are all part of the performance - but we know better.

Here's where to tune into Horror Channel this Halloween season:

  • Sky Channel - 317
  • Virgin - 148
  • Freeview - 70
  • Freesat - 138

As you can see, Horror Channel is the place to be if you're looking for bloody scares and terrifying antics during this Halloween season. From classics like Hellraiser to contemporary takes on fear, Horror Channel has every fright and delight you could ask for - and a few more you didn't.
