George Lucas says he hasnt watched trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens
George Lucas has taken steps to further distance himself from Star Wars: The Force Awakens by claiming he hasn’t even taken the time to watch the new trailer.
However, according to Page Six Lucas insists his decision to give the new trailer a swerve isn’t borne out of any sense of bitterness, but rather a dislike for watching trailers outside of a cinema setting…
“Because it’s not in the movie theatre,” explained Lucas, when asked why he had yet to watch the recent trailer. “I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there.”
It had previously been suggested that Lucas was in close consultation with J.J. Abrams over the forthcoming film, but according to the report, he simply answered, “not really” when asked whether he was keeping tabs on the project.
In any case, George will get the chance to see the finished article in his cinema of choice when the film lands in the UK and US on 18 December 2015.
