Best console gaming chair for PS5 and Xbox in 2024
Invest in some comfort with the best gaming chairs for console players
The best console gaming chair gives your gaming setup more options. Most gaming chair shopping guides will be aimed at folks who game at a desk, and while the majority of the market leans toward designing chairs for PC players, it doesn't mean they don't work for consoles too. Ergonomic office chairs can work for a TV setup, but this list will cater to more versatile seats too.
Some of the best gaming chairs for consoles will offer you built-in audio which comes in the form of Bluetooth or a 3.5mm jack. As a general rule, this is a feature that desk and PC gaming chairs don't have. Having said that, a very exciting concept came out of CES 2023 at the start of the year, as Razer showed off its new "Project Carol", a headrest for gaming and office chairs that vibrates and has near-field speakers built in. This could point to some interesting and versatile chairs or head cushions in the future, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Given that most console gamers want to be kicked back in front of one of the best gaming TVs, you're going to want to be a little further away from the screen than PC players. Generally speaking, a pedestal or rocker chair can have you in a comfortable sitting position which is ideal for lounging. That's not to say that office-style gaming chairs don't have their place. Plenty of console players sit at a gaming gaming desks, so we've recommended a wide range of options down below.
Best console gaming chair 2024:
1. X-Rocker Pro Series

Widley regarded as one of the premium choices of the pedestal console gaming chair range, X-Rocker's Pro series is excellent for those that want a gaming chair for PS5 and Xbox Series X. It's very comfortable and has a pleasing black aesthetic on faux leather.
One of the unique selling points of this chair is its tri-motor vibration, which takes seat-bound immersion to a new level, alongside its 4.1 sound setup that includes a punchy woofer. The vibration stays in sync with the woofer's bass tones and creates a powerful full-body sensation that's great for heightening your gaming experience.
This is a premium gaming chair in every way and that does increase the size somewhat. It's a bit chunky, but that only means it will be a sturdy and robust purchase that's sure to last you a good while. Not one for hiding in the corner of the room, though, due to its size, at least a plain black aesthetic helps to make sure this model fits in with your living room.
2. i-eX Gaming Chair Bean Bag

Although this isn't exactly a pedestal, we've thrown it in the list here as it provides comfort akin to one. Bean bags get thrown around - literally and figuratively - in the conversation about the best console gaming chairs, but this is one we can definitely recommend. The i-eX Gaming Chair Bean Bag is soft and squidgy option which is perfect for those without a desk-bound gaming setup.
Its design is reminiscent of a high-backed bucket seat you might find in a racing car, especially because it's something you'll sink into. When you do, you'll be at a pleasing coffee-table height, and the chair keeps its shape while simultaneously cradling your every move. Its aesthetic and design are as subtle as beanbags get, but the gaming focus enables it to stand out from the crowd of run-of-the-mill sacks. More importantly, it dispels any stereotypes that bean bags are only for children or that gaming-focused bags are tacky.
It’s perfect for console gaming in a communal room like the living room or a den as it does a good job of blending into your room as a general soft furnishing that provides more places to sit if you have guests round, even with its slightly distinctive design and branding on the front. It doesn't have any fancy features like cup holders or hidden pockets, but the i-eX will keep you comfy in any position for hours at a time, has decent back support (for something that is essentially fluid in a bag), and looks pretty cool at the same time.
3. Brazen Emperor

Also available as a pedestal, the Emperor Rocker from Brazen fits the bill of a gaming chair that can cater to your every preference. This extra versatility isn't always found in the best console gaming chairs, and since it doesn't miss out on features as a result, we'd definitely throw its hat in the ring.
The Emperor is comfortable, finished nicely, and is robust enough to be used as the main console chair for adults or kids, and the audio quality from the built-in speakers is of a good standard - if you're in a position to plug the chair in. As I said in my Brazen Emperor review, it is a little disappointing that the chair isn't truly wireless, especially as we enter a new console gaming generation. And while robust and sturdy and pretty comfy, the chair is less ideal for those of us who are taller - the neck and arms feel too low overall and this breaks the comfort every now and then, even when you can slouch to have your elbows on the rests.

If you're serious about your racing sims and you need somewhere to park your wheel, and pedals, and otherwise harness the power of modern driving games, this is your stop on this list.
The PlaySeat Trophy is a freestanding, full-size racing cockpit with a uniquely integrated racing hammock seat, wheel deck, and pedal tray. Clearly, this will take up some serious real estate in front of your TV, so if that's a worry for you, check out the foldable PlaySeat Challenge X. The good news is that while the Trophy takes up a lot of room, it is highly adjustable to you and your racing sim gear.
You may think a chair like this demands some complicated construction, but in fact, assembly was easy for our reviewer, who only took half an hour to throw it together. It's not an F1 pit stop, but it's not far off. Build quality is solid, and will be able to withstand the strongest force feedback while you muscle around a corner at full speed.
To top it all off, this is mighty comfortable, and could easily work as a console gaming chair when you're not tightening up your lap times. Just be aware that a premium product like this doesn't come cheap.
5. Brazen Pride or Brazen Stag console chair

Another offering from Brazen, this design covers both the Brazen Pride and Brazen Stag as they are incredibly similar - you'll see both in the prices above - though there is a slight difference in the finishing design patterns.
The chairs have the neat party trick of offering 'surround sound' but this might be using artistic license a bit as we found it easy enough to clearly discern between the audio coming out of the left-right speakers up top and a larger speaker on the back
You will be tethered to your media though, as the chair requires a 3.5mm headphone port, or the red/white phono connections to operate at its fullest. There are two easy to reach knobs on the side to adjust volume and bass levels and while these chairs won't provide the most premium sound, we enjoyed the closeness of the stereo audio and punchy bass which is a real bonus for something that is a good chair in its own right but made a little better and more unique by adding good audio.
A small warning is necessary, however: the chair is not very tall, and most adults will have to fight a little with the headrest as it will likely poke into your back or shoulders. If you're under or around 5 foot 5 inches, then you may have more comfort, and it's certainly a great shout for children and early teens.
6. Brazen Serpent

Brazen's Serpent gaming pedestal is probably one of the best pedestals available right now when it comes down to comfort alone. However, on top of that, it chucks in great features, solid audio, and good design options. These are all bolstered by a solid build quality, too, making it one of the best console gaming chairs on the market.
Construction is a simple process that involves attaching the arms and the base, and then the chair is simple and convenient to store, with the back folding over onto the seat. The colors available offer a good fit for everyone, covering those who prefer a more subtle, living room appropriate approach, and those who want more colorful and video game-y designs. Overall, this chair does a decent job of looking at home anywhere, and its comfort and audio double whammy are an excellent combination in a gaming chair that is primed for console play.
Small gripes include having to be fully wired into the media source as opposed to having a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection, and perhaps falling a bit short in the customization and adjustability departments. Overall, we'd say these are fair compromises to make.
Best desk-based gaming chair
If you do tend to sit at a desk while you play your favourite games, office and ergonomic chairs are your best bet. They're also amazing for people who have multi-function set ups. If you have a gaming PC as well your console of choice, or you work from home at a desk, then an office-style chair may be much more suited to your needs. We've tested loads of gaming seats to bring you the ones that we think are the best in terms of value, comfort and style.

The Boulies Ninja Pro is our favorite gaming chair overall at the moment. It's undeniably comfortable, and it has all the features and adjustability that a modern gaming chair needs. Not only is it significantly more cushioned than a lot of the gaming chairs we test, but its price tag isn't nearly as demanding.
The Ninja Pro uses a combination of Ultraflex PU leather and velvety-soft suede material, which feels exceptional for the money. In the better part of a year testing it, I've never struggled with temperature control, and it's got a wide enough seat that I can cross my legs, fold them over, or sit in whatever weird position I fancy. 4D armrests, blissful lumbar support, and a sturdy base make you feel supported while the velvety cushions make you feel embraced in the best way possible.
It isn't available in the slew of colors a lot of gaming chairs are, but its aesthetics are classy and still throw in a dash of color here and there. If you like a comfy seat you can sit in for hours on end without aches and pains, this is your best bet.

The Corsair TC100 Relaxed offers some of the best value in the gaming chair world. It punches above its pricing division by packing loads of features in, providing easy comfort, and all the while remaining cheaper than a lot of the competition.
The Corsair TC100 Relaxed is all about a blend of supportive, posture-correcting design, with plush comfort found in the comfiest couches. The methodology here is to use a wider seat with softer contact points while staying true to that iconic racer-style build that can support the body for hours on end.
Annoyingly, there aren't color choices. The TC100 Relaxed only comes in either a Plush Leatherette material or a Soft Fabric, but only comes in two colors, grey, and black. The other flaw of note is that the casters feel a bit rigid no matter what surface you're atop. That said, the quality of the seat you get here for the price is excellent, and all the adjustability you could need is here in spades.
The TC100 is proof that you can absolutely get a top-drawer gaming chair from a well-known brand for less than $300. If you like the look of the Secretlab options on this list and want a lot of the same features, but can't afford their lofty prices - don't miss this cracker from Corsair.

The Noblechairs Hero is a sound choice for any sort of gaming chair, particularly if you've saved up with something premium in mind. It's got bucket loads of comfort that arrive as a result of using superior building materials, and a careful evasion of the racing-style bucket seat design. A firm back and seat encourage better posture, and it's comfortable for long periods of time, and the armrests can be adjusted to suit you.
If you're looking for a flashy chair with lots of gimmicks, this might not be it. But for someone who fancies a dependable, well-made chair that's ideal for the work-and-play balance or dual setups we're all seeing more of now, then this is it.
