GameStop listing outs Catwoman DLC episodes
“I don't know about you, Miss Kitty, but I feel so much yummier.”
In just a few short weeks we’ll all be gliding into the crime-ridden Arkham City as the Caped Crusader for one of the most anticipated games of the year. But what happens after we’ve done all there is to do in Arkham?
According to GameStop’s website, there’s more planned than we’ll be getting at launch. Buried in the bullets of the description for the Limited Edition game guide is a mention of downloadable content, promising some additional playtime spent as everyone’s favorite whip-carrying jewel thief, Catwoman. It’s not the DLC that’s surprising, but the wording: “Bonus Catwoman's Walkthrough: Get complete coverage of Catwoman's DLC content! All 4 episodes are revealed!”
Sure, it’s not the most official source of information, but we doubt the copywriters at GameStop are just making this stuff up. Plus, it’s too specific to be a wild guess. Not only does it mention DLC, but specifically four episodes worth, though we really don’t know exactly what they may entail. The obvious answer would be that they are going to come in the form of Challenge Rooms, as was the case with most of the DLC in Arkham Asylum, but those could hardly be considered “episodes.” If we were the type that looked too far into things (which we are), we’d say that this episodic content might be more story missions, fleshing out Catwoman’s side of things in the Arkham City story. That sure sounds more like an “episode” to us.
Still, maybe it really will just offer more Challenge Rooms. We’re really hoping that’s not all Rocksteady Studios has in store, because for as much fun as those score-driven Challenge Rooms were, we’d be much happier parting with our hard-earned money if it meant a continuation (or expansion) of the story. We’ve reached out to some of our friends at Warner Bros. for more information using our top-notch detective skills, and we’ll keep you posted if we hear anything interesting.
