GameStop is no longer taking in-store reservations for Xbox One. The specialty retailer confirmed to Polygon that demand has already outstripped supply for the consoles's special Day One Edition, planned for launch in November.
"Due to high demand, GameStop is not taking additional store reservations for the Xbox One Day One Edition," the company said in a statement. "In the meantime, the Xbox One wireless controller and top Xbox One games like: Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5, and Kinect Sports Rivals are available for pre-order at all GameStop stores or online."
GameStop is still accepting pre-orders with a $100 minimum deposit for Microsoft's next-gen console through its website. Store managers who spoke with Polygon said they are still taking local pre-orders for PlayStation 4, and Sony has allocated significantly more units than Microsoft.
