Gamescom 2011: Guild Wars 2 trailer is the most epic thing since forever
In the running for "Best Music in an MMO trailer" for Gamescom 2011
You might have managed to keep Guild Wars 2 off your radar so far, but if you watch this video there’s a really good chance you’re going to be sold. Like, completely, totally, “take all my money I don’t need it anymore” sold. At GamesCom, AreaNet released a five-minute long trailer for their upcoming MMORPG, and it’s just about the most epic thing you’ll see all day. It’s jam-packed with everything MMO fans love: large battles, unique characters, beautiful settings, wonderful music, and a giant freaking dragon. Oh, and enough slow-motion fighting to make even the most jaded MMO fans weak in the knees. Seriously. Give it a go.
The bad news: there’s still no release date announced. We were crossing our fingers that we might find out the official date at Gamescom, but, just as is the case with BioWare’s The Old Republic, the developer still isn’t ready to let us know when we’ll be able to get our hands on their game. In the meantime, we’ll just watch this trailer over and over again, hoping that, one time, the ending will suddenly change and “NOVEMBER SOMETHINGTH 2011” will flash on the screen. We can dream, can’t we?
