The best Warbonds in Helldivers 2 are all ranked below. With nearly a dozen premium warbonds to pick through right now (what the game calls battle passes), sorting out which warbond is best is pretty important, especially considering that you need to pay Super Credits to earn them - and with the new Servants of Freedom pass now out in the wild, there's even more to take into consideration. Don't worry though; we've got a ranked list for all the Warbonds in HD2, so you know whether to go cutting edge or wield Freedom's Flame, and what gear in each Warbond is especially of note.

Right now the best premium Warbond in Helldivers 2 is actually the Steeled Veterans Warbond, the first one to ever be added to the game This didn't used to be the case, but numerous patches and buffs have turned its contents from an unremarkable mixed bag into a genuinely potent selection of weaponry and gear - especially considering that at least two of the Warbonds are considered to be pretty unremarkable by many at the moment.

Of course, keep in mind that despite the good fortune for Steeled Veterans, all the Warbonds are subject to further patches, buffs and nerfs that may happen in the future. There's no guarantee either that Steeled Veterans won't get cut down to size by future patches, or that others won't be improved to the point where they end up eclipsing it.

We've got the best premium Warbonds and battle passes in Helldivers ranked below, best to worst, with some details on what you should buy in each one once you purchase them.

  1. Helldivers 2 Steeled Veterans Warbond. As mentioned, patches and buffs have made Steeled Veterans very potent since a disappointing debut. Players who grab this battle pass should aim to get the Senator Revolver Pistol, Incendiary Breaker Shotgun and Dominator Rifle, among others - they're genuinely superb weapons.
  2. Helldivers 2 Democratic Detonation Warbond. Though it started pretty unremarkable, upgrades and buffs have pushed the contents of the DD warbond into the upper tier, and made it a lot more valuable. The Eruptor, the Crossbow and Grenade Pistol are now both incredibly potent on the battlefield, though be careful - you don't want to get caught in the blasts you make.
  3. Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond. A technologically-themed battle pass with an emphasis on energy weapons and arc damage, defined primarily by the Sickle, a page 1 laser that remains one of the best weapons in the game, even after numerous nerfs to try and bring it under control. The Arc-12 Blitzer is OK too, if a bit hard to control, and the electrical-resistance armor has only become more valid with those Illuminate electrocution towers.
  4. Helldivers 2 Truth Enforcers Warbond. This pass specialized in tech that thrives against armor plating and has a melee focus. What's here isn't spectacular, but doesn't suck - the Halt is pretty good as a versatile weapon to bring in with you.
  5. Helldivers 2 Polar Patriots Warbond. This ostensibly icy pass isn't anything to write home about, but those who have it and want to get their money's worth straight away should aim to get the Incendiary Impact Grenade, the Pummeller SMG, and the Verdict pistol.
  6. Helldivers 2 Urban Legends Warbond. Only one weapon - the Stun Lance - and a slew of Stratagems make this a bit more of a gimmick pass. Still, the Directional Shield is fun, if not a game-breaking addition.
  7. Helldivers 2 Servants of Freedom Warbond. This pass is themed around gear that hurts you almost as much at the enemy. The new Double-Edged Sickle burns you with overheating damage, but it's not better than the standard model. Still, the Ultimatum sidearm that lets you shoot a small nuclear device is pretty powerful, even if it has a disturbingly short range.
  8. Helldivers 2 Freedom's Flame Warbond. A fiery warbond that's basically for anti-bug combat, dealing short-range fire damage with weapons like the Crisper and Torcher.
  9. Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond. Though it has a cool aesthetic and one great Booster that enhances Stims, all the weapons here are pretty mediocre in terms of combat power. We're definitely at the stage of "meh" warbonds by this point.
  10. Helldivers 2 Chemical Agents Warbond. A poison-gas themed warbond that has a decent gas grenade and little else to recommend. The only thing of note besides is the Stim Pistol, which allows you to heal at a distance, but it's not actually very helpful - hitting people with it is easier said than done, especially without voice chat.
