The time to beat Silent Hill 2 will be roughly 20 hours - on the first playthrough
How long is the Silent Hill 2 Remake? SH2 2024 covers the same kind of story as the original, but paces it a little differently, with more focus on puzzles and additional challenges, as well as the opportunity to explore and get lost in certain locations. Those who play should expect roughly 20 hours from beginning to the end, but that's an elastic number - and doesn't take into account the chance to experience additional content after the fact. We'll explain how long to beat the Silent Hill 2 Remake below, and what elements can change those numbers.
How long to beat the Silent Hill 2 Remake?
The Silent Hill 2 Remake will take roughly 17-22 hours for most players to beat, though that figure will vary depending on how skilled you are as a player and how much you tread off the beaten path for collectibles and new challenges. Silent Hill 2 Remake is hardly an open world game, but sections of it are non-linear, where you're free to explore a few streets before moving onto the next location. This is how completely options puzzles like the Silent Hill 2 Remake Garage Jack lever come into play - going off the beaten path to find a way to get new rewards.
Finally, it's also worth addressing New Game Plus. The Silent Hill 2 Remake does have NG+, which adds access to new items, graphic modes and even new endings that can't be obtained in the first playthrough. For example, those who try it can get a Chainsaw, one of the most deadly of all the Silent Hill 2 Remake weapons.
This means that a completionist - or at least somebody who wants the complete Silent Hill experience - will have to go through the story multiple times for the full picture. In fact, with 8 different Silent Hill 2 Remake endings available to players, that will mean somebody who wants to see them all (and not just look them up on YouTube) will have to play through the game multiple times over.
