There's a brand new Stardew Valley-esque farming sim on the block, and this one is out of this world. Literally.

Farlands is a cozy farming sim set in space, where you're given a nifty little spaceship  that gives you access to all other worlds for the ultimate resource collection mission.

The new trailer that just dropped as part of the Future Games Show Summer Showcase just confirmed that you can play the demo for Farlands right now, ahead of its Steam Early Access launch on July 24. It's almost time to blast off.

Rather than starting out by inheriting your grandpa's old farm, it turns out our intrepid space farmer has bought an entire planet at a low, low price. It's been abandoned for decades somewhere on the outskirts of the solar system, so you just know it's going to need some work.

Thankfully your personal assistance droid is coming along for the ride and just happens to have a cat head on top of its robot body. You've got your run-down old ship too, which is going to come in very handy for moving between the various planets in the solar system where you'll be able to find the resources you need to set up your home planet.

There are people to meet and befriend within the solar system too, with their own reasons as to why they too have moved all the way out here.

You can see a slice of all this for yourself you can download the demo that just dropped on Steam. Don't forget to add it to your wishlist to stay up to date on all the updates ahead of the July 8 Early Access Steam launch too.
