Genshin Impact McDonald's collab explained – How to get the exclusive Primogems, glider, and more
The Genshin Impact x McDonald's event is live now - here's how to get the limited-time meals
The Genshin Impact x McDonald's collaboration event is live as of today, September 17. The new collab runs through September 29, dishing out Primogems, a limited glider and namecard, and an in-game recipe mirroring the event food, all through exclusive redemption codes.
Many players have reported delayed or missing rewards, prompting an official notice from Genshin Impact social accounts on the eligibility requirements. "We are currently working diligently to resend the redemption codes," it reads." You'll find everything you need to know below.
The Genshin Impact McDonald's collab is limited to customers in the United States and also requires using the McDonald's app. As explained in a new trailer featuring Beidou and Kazuha – once again sporting casual wear that tragically won't become in-game skins – ordering specific items via the McDonald's app will earn you redemption codes for unique rewards. (You can check out all the normal Genshin Impact codes here.) Here's how it works:
- Purchase the "Genshin Impact Apple Pie" via the McDonald's app to receive these in-game rewards: 40 Primogems, the Golden Apple Pastry recipe, three Golden Apple Pastry food items, 20,000 Mora, four weapon XP materials, and two character XP materials.
- Purchase the "Genshin Impact Deluxe McCrispy™ Meal" via the McDonald's app to receive these in-game rewards: the "Wings of Delicacies" wind glider and the "Celebration: Crispy and Sweet" namecard.
You'll find these collab products in the McDonald's app under the Genshin Impact event banner beneath the "Menu" or "Trending" bar of the home page. The "Genshin Impact meal" is also listed at the top of the main "Order" menu.
The McCrispy meal is $9.28 and the apple pie is $1.69 (local prices may vary), so about $11 total for pickup, and slightly more for delivery. Note that, although the meal does come with an apple pie, you do need to purchase an additional apple pie separately to claim all possible rewards.
Importantly, the fine print notes that you "must opt into email and rewards before purchase." If you're new to the McDonald's app, this opt-in choice will appear when you first sign up for the app, or you can find it under your profile settings. You can also quickly access this menu via the in-app banner, with a blurb from Kazuha calling this out on the event page. Once you complete your purchase, your redemption codes will be sent to the email tied to your McDonald's app account.
Here's how all of this looks in the McDonald's app:
Once you have your codes, you can redeem them as you would any normal codes, like the ones given out during Genshin Impact reveal streams. The codes themselves will be valid until October 29, but again, the actual McDonald's app promotion only runs from September 17 through September 29 in the US.
