The Monster Hunter Wilds roadmap for future content just got a load of new information in the wake of the March Showcase, where new monsters like Mizutsune, an enhanced Rey Dau, Zoh Shia and even the long-ignored Lagiacrus will be coming soon! With two different title updates planned for Monster Hunter Wilds, we've laid out all the important new content coming to the game later on. If you're excited to see what's ahead in the hunt, here's all the key info on Monster Hunter Wilds roadmap and upcoming title updates.
Monster Hunter Wilds content roadmap
Monster Hunter Wilds has a sparse content roadmap for now, but hopefully Capcom will reveal more details about what's to come shortly after launch. So far, we know that the game will be getting at least two free title updates as the roadmap lays out what will be coming in the spring and summer after launch and says, "to be continued…".
If you were hoping for tougher hunts with Master Rank at launch, that unfortunately won't be happening and there's nothing to suggest this endgame difficulty will be added within this roadmap's vague seasonal timeframe. In the past, Master Rank has always been added as part of the larger post-launch expansions (Iceborne for MH World and Sunbreak for MH Rise), so it seems likely that Monster Hunter Wilds will follow that pattern, although there is no word on an expansion yet.
- Capcom promises "lots in store" for Monster Hunter Wilds beyond just "the planned title updates," not to mention the "series as a whole"
- Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 is out April 4 and looks stacked: Zoh Shia returns, the Grand Hub adds a social space, plus Arch-Tempered Rey Dau, arena speedrun contests, and Mizutsune
Furthermore, two Cosmetic DLC Packs will release but only for those who own the Premium Deluxe Edition of the game. These packs will include Layered Armor and Pendants, which you can use to change your Monster Hunter Wilds armor appearance.
Those are the basic details on what to expect for the future of Monster Hunter Wilds but here are the specifics for each of the currently announced title updates:
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1
Title Update 1 for MH Wilds goes live on Thursday April 3 (PDT) / Friday April 4 (BST). It will include the following content, as well as preparing for later updates.
- Mizutsune: The massive Mizutsune monster makes a return, joining the already huge Monster Hunter Wilds roster. If you're not aware of this colossal creature it's a serpentine, dragon-like creature that's almost like a hybrid of a mythical kitsune fox and a crocodile. Expect it to be a serious challenge.
- Zoh Shia: Zoh Shia was a one-off encounter in the story of MH Wilds that couldn't be replayed afterwards, but now it'll be a replayable encounter for those at HR50 and up.
- The Grand Hub social area: This social zone will be an area for players to interact in various ways, including minigames like barrel bowling and arm-wrestling. HR16 players (and up) will be able to access this by talking to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
- Arena Quests: These special hunts are based on completion in the fastest time, with you trying to beat the times of other players worldwide.
- Alma Outfits: Alma will now have customisable outfits that you can choose between back at the Camp Tent.
- Free and Premium DLC Content: New content will be available for free, as well as new paid content for those who own the Premium Deluxe Edition and Cosmetic DLC Pass holders.
- Arch-Tempered Rey Dau Event Quest (April 29 - May 20): A more powerful version of the Rey Dau will be coming to the game. Arch-Tempered monsters will be even more powerful than the tempered kind, and this will include new armor along the way.
- Seasonal Event Festival of Accord: Blossomdance (April 22- May 6): This limited-time spring festival changes the appearance of the Grand Hub and what meals are available, as well as special limited time cosmetic awards.
- Unrevealed Capcom Collaboration (End of May): Though as yet unstated, there will be a "collaboration with another Capcom title".
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1
Information on the second major free update for Monster Hunter Wilds is far more vague right now.
- Lagiacrus: Though not explicitly stated, a partial shot of an unidentified monster in the March Showcase was quickly identified as Lagiacrus, a watery Leviathan that hasn't been seen in the series since Monster Hunter 3.
- Event quests: Again, there will be more limited-time hunts and event challenges to complete with the release of the Summer Title Update.
- Cosmetic DLC Pack 2 for Premium Deluxe Edition owners is due sometime in the summer 2025, so hopefully it joins this Title Update, but it could arrive at a different date.
So, two free title updates are on the horizon, covering the first six months or so of Monster Hunter Wilds' release. There will no doubt be plenty more information on these updates and future ones in time, so we'll update this guide with new information as soon as it's available.
