Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be on PS5, which is great news for players on Sony's latest console. Naturally there was some doubt as to if or when the new Indiana Jones game would be on PS5, as Xbox owns developer MachineGames and the initial launch is a Microsoft exclusive, so a cross-platform release was far from guaranteed. However, the good news is that this exclusivity will only last for a reasonably short time, so PlayStation owners won't have too long to wait before they can go on this adventure themselves. For the latest information, here's what you need to know about the PS5 release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is launching on PC, Xbox Series X, and Game Pass on December 9, 2024. The game is a timed exclusive following the $7.5 billion acquisition of Bethesda in 2021, which included developer MachineGames.

However, we can confirm that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will launch on PS5 in 'Spring 2025'. Microsoft Gaming is yet to provide a firmer release date for the PlayStation launch, but at least we know that it's coming – and that you won't have long to wait.

While it may seem strange to find an Xbox published game arriving on other platforms, this is actually part of a wider strategy. Earlier this year, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer announced that Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Grounded, and Hi-Fi rush would be arriving on rival platforms – part of an effort to expose some of Xbox's franchises to wider audiences. Black Ops 6 is also coming to PS5 this October, despite Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard earlier this year.

Which is all to say that, yes, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is coming to PS5, and sooner than expected. Now we just need to wait and see whether other upcoming Xbox Series X games like Doom: The Dark Ages, Fable 4, and Perfect Dark will also make the jump.
