Game of Thrones season 7 will see Sansa on a "power trip" according to Sophie Turner

What does Game of Thrones season 7 have in store for Sansa Stark? Possible Sansa-shaped spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned.

Sophie Turner says Sansa, who has just reclaimed Winterfell from Ramsay Bolton, will go on “a bit of a power trip”. Can David Benioff and D.B. Weiss just be nice to these characters just for once?

She might be on a power trip but don’t expect Sansa to replace Cersei as the Mad Queen any time soon. Turner, in an interview with EW, says: “[Sansa is] also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds.” Those threats, internal and external, may see Sansa cross paths with some new (and old) faces.

After the events of the season 6 finale, Sansa could be on a collision course with Jon Snow – with Littlefinger waiting in the wings, but, according to the actress, seeing these new dynamics is the most exciting part as the HBO show reaches its conclusion, “What overall excites me about [season 7] is that main characters are coming together and it feels like things are ramping up,”

In fact, Sophie Turner sounds just as hyped as every other Game of Thrones diehard on the planet. “It’s really exciting and all feels like it’s coming to a big conclusion.”

Will Sansa have a big role to play in this ‘big conclusion’? I’m no betting man (ok, I am) but if Sansa isn’t edging towards the Iron Throne when all is said and done then I’ll eat my pointy crown.

Game of Thrones season 7 will debut in summer 2017.
