Game of Thrones actress on Meera Reed-Jon Snow twin theory: "I never rule anything out"

Warning: this article contains potential spoilers for future seasons of Game of Thrones

Until we've seen Game of Thrones season 7 and season 8 we won't know (obviously) if season 6 really is the best of the bunch. It surprised a lot of die-hards by speeding up plots and flaunting loads of theories. One of those involves Jon Snow, because - let's face it - all the big GoT theories revolve around the resurrected one.

This particular theory suggests that Jon Snow wasn't the only baby to pop out of Lyanna Stark at the Tower of Joy. Nope. Meera Reed was too. See, we know that Ned Stark was there and he agreed to help shield his sister's offspring by claiming it was his bastard. This theory puts forth the idea that Howland Reed - who was also there with Ned - took another baby and did the exact same.

They're both listed as the same age in George R.R. Martin's books, too. And when you think about it, Jon and Meera do share some physical similarities:

When asked at a recent HBO event for the upcoming season 6 home video release, the actress who plays Meera, Ellie Kendrick, threw in her two cents on the theory. "Game of Thrones always surprises us. I’m always surprised! I never have any idea of what’s going to happen next. I never rule anything out,” she told the Huffington Post

But as we did see the Tower of Joy scene in season 6 - and only one baby was present - Kendrick added that it does appear to wrap stuff up. “It seems quite conclusive in terms of Jon’s parentage. I don’t know. We’ve still never really seen where Jojen and Meera [Reed] have come from. We know a little tiny bit about her father. We don’t know anything about her mother, really. So yeah, I’m excited to find out who her parents are and what the situation is.”

If Thrones has taught us anything, it's to expected the unexpected. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out there were three babies and Jon and Meera have another sibling floating around Westeros...

Game of Thrones season 7 will debut in summer 2017.
