Gal Gadot responds to criticism over Wonder Woman casting

Gal Gadot has been discussing the reaction to her casting as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman , and describes herself as “the Wonder Woman of the new world".

Gadot’s physique has been a source of much online consternation, with fans claiming she is too skinny for the role.

The Israeli talk show Gadot was appearing on put it even more bluntly, asking the question, “Wonder Woman in large-breasted… is that going to change?”

“Breasts… anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine,” responded Gadot. “By the way, Wonder Woman is Amazonian, and historically accurate Amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I really go by the book, it’d be problematic.”

“It’s the physical preparations that I’m starting now,” continues the star. “A very serious training regime – Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian…1,001 things…I’ll gain body mass.”

Directed by Snyder and co-starring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, Batman vs. Superman will open in the US on 17 July 2015.
