Leonard Nimoy has told Reuters that he doubts he’ll appear in any more Star Trek films: "I think I was useful in this last film to help bridge between the original actors and this new cast. They have a wonderful new cast in place, and I don't see why they would need me in this next film. But if they called me, I would be happy to have a conversation about it.”
Gravel Broadens The Mind
Warren Ellis’s supernatural comic Gravel is heading to the big screen, courtesy of Legendary Pictures, the company behind the upcoming Where The Wild Things Are and Clash Of The Titans. The comic stars William Gravel, an SAS soldier who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for clients. According to Variety Rick Alexander will produce, but there's no news yet on writer or director. Meanwhile, analysts are predicting that by 2016 Hollywood will have optioned every single comic book ever published and will have to start adapting YouTube videos instead.
Disney Greenlight Film Not Based On Comic On Comic Shocker
Disney is developing a high concept fantasy film called Opposite Day, which to quote The Hollywood Reporter is "based on an original idea by studio production president Oren Aviv". Hold on. Rewind. "Original idea"? Sorry, this is Hollywood we're talking about? Apparently the film is about a corporate hatchet man who wakes up one morning and finds he must follow the exact opposite of his normal routine. What’s the betting they're talking to Jim Carrey to star?
Resident Evil: AfterLife Plot Details
Screen Gems has given Coming Soon a plot synopsis and cast list for Resident Evil: Afterlife, due for release in the summer next year: “In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap." Paul WS Anderson returns as director (and is writing the script again) while the cast includes Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Spencer Locke, Wentworth Miller, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Kim Coates, Norman Yeung and Kasey Barnfield.
