Free Team Fortress 2 hat! PC Gamer Digital Episode 1 comes with Killer Exclusive fedora

Team Fortress 2 has changed a lot over the past few years. When it was first released every character looked the same and it cost actual money to play. How crazy is that? Now TF2 is free-to-play, and characters carry unique weapons and items that set them apart from the other players on the battlefield.

But even more important than the gun in your hands… is the hat on your head. As of today, there’s one more hat available in the game, and it’s available to anyone who purchases PC Gamer Digital Episode 1. All you need to do is download it on Steam and you’ll be rewarded with The Killer Exclusive hat, which might be the mightiest hat of them all.

The Killer Exclusive can be equipped to any of TF2′s nine character classes and is available automatically in the game if you purchase Episode 1. If you already purchased Episode 1 (and enjoyed the goodness inside) then you’ve already been given the hat to have and to hold. If you’re feeling generous, you can even gift friends a copy of Episode 1 which will, in turn, give them the hat.

Right now it’s only available to US residents, though the PC Gamer folks promise it’s something they’re working on addressing very soon. Hopefully, within the next few weeks, it won’t matter where you game from – you’ll still be able to rock the Killer Exclusive as you blow apart your enemies. You can find out more on PC Gamer's official website, and we've posted a video of the hat in action (that's the first time we got to write that sentence) below. Check it out!
