Frank Miller wants Stallone for Batman
Sly is Miller’s Dark Knight
Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns is considered one of the greatest graphic novels ever penned. So who does Miller want to play Batman in the inevitable adaptation? Sylvester Stallone.
And no, he doesn’t mean the Sly of First Blood, but the Sylvester of Rocky Balboa.
“Just that mouth of his, the scowl and the way it would look in a mask. I loved Rocky Balboa. This wounded warrior, that's what Batman is in Dark Knight Returns,” Miller told the LA Times .
It makes sense, Returns tells the tale of Batman fighting crime at the end of his career and Sly’s proven he can still do intense action in Rambo.
But the fact that Miller’s imagining how Stallone would look in a mask makes us think he hasn’t seen the other Sly mask movie, Judge Dredd. Mind you, to be fair, he didn’t wear it much...
