Fortnite Oro challenges: How to Awaken Oro and unlock a free wrap, pickaxe, and 400,000 XP
Oro has arrived, so here's how to beat the Fortnite Awaken Oro challenges and complete the Midas' Revenge set
We knew it would be arriving at some point thanks to leaks back in February, but the golden king is now official here and has brought a new set of Fortnite Oro challenges to take on. King Oro is the latest addition to the skins available in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, and although the outfit is quite expensive you can Awaken Oro by taking on his challenges for free. Not only will completing these add some fresh options to your locker, but you'll also earn a cool 400,000 XP to give a significant boost to your Fortnite progress through the battle pass. Here's everything you need to know about this legendary outfit, and how to complete the Fortnite Oro challenges.

How to get Fortnite Oro
After the Fortnite Oro legendary character skin was leaked earlier in the season, it is now available to buy from the Item Shop. It'll set you back a hefty 2,000 V-Bucks, but included in that you get the legendary Oro outfit and legendary Radiant Mantle back bling, both of which have selectable styles to choose whether they glow or not. You can also pick up the matching Skellon glider for a further 1,500 V-Bucks and ride into matches on a giant gold dragon, which again comes in both glowing or non glowing styles.
If you want to complete the Midas' Revenge set, then you need to beat all four of the Fortnite Oro challenges laid out below. After clearing two of them you'll receive the Greed wrap, and by finishing the list you'll unlock the Gilded Scepter pickaxe. With 100,000 XP available for each challenge you finish, it's definitely worth getting through them all.
Fortnite Oro Challenges
You'll find the Fortnite Oro challenges under the Awaken Oro heading at the Challenge Table in HQ, and these are your tasks:
- Assist teammates with Eliminations (10)
- Play a game with a friend (10)
- Deal damage to opponents (1,000)
- Collect medals (40)
Assisting teammates with eliminations is best tackled in Team Rumble mode due to the large number of players on your team, and you can easily build up your numbers by damaging an opponent any amount then leaving them for another teammate to finish off, as this will count as an assist for you no matter how long it takes for the opponent to get eliminated. Likewise, if you're an active player then you should be able to rack up 1,000 damage within a couple of Team Rumble matches.
You will need a friend who plays Fortnite to complete 10 games with them, and we have advice on how to enable cross platform Fortnite matches if they are using a different system. If you want to rattle through this quickly rather than playing 10 full matches, then simply drop into Duos with your friend and have both of you eliminate yourselves immediately with fall damage, then ready up and repeat until you've done 10 games together.
Finally, you need to collect a total of 40 medals, which sounds like a lot but you can earn them in many different ways – being first to land in a match, first to reach full health and shields, first to catch a fish, first to find a legendary weapon, as well as cumulative awards for opening chests, eliminations, assists, match placement etc. Your medal punchcard holds the first 10 medals you collect in each 24 hour period, but once full you can continue to earn medals so this won't limit you. Playing Team Rumble mode while opening chests, racking up eliminations and assists, and swapping between weapons to earn the specialist medals for each type will help maximise your medals per match.
