Where to find Fortnite Hot Spots

Fortnite Hot Spots bring extra loot to a couple of random POIs each match thanks to carrier drones that can be shot down. Venture to any of the points of interest marked with gold lettering, and you'll find plenty of these drones flying about. The extra Fortnite loot that spills out of them includes weapons and consumables, which'll no doubt come in handy for the battles ahead or for any quests you need to complete. Here's exactly how you find Fortnite Hot Spots and what they're for.

What is a Fortnite Hot Spot?

At the start of a match, take a look at the Fortnite map and you should see two random POIs now have shiny gold names, which means they have become a Fortnite Hot Spot for the match. Hot Spots feature carrier drones that fly around holding crates - shoot them down and those crates will burst open for extra loot!

For one of the Chapter 5 Season 1 Fortnite quests, you've got to loot seven Rare/blue (or better) weapons in these Hot Spots. This doesn't have to be done in one match either, so just make sure you keep dropping at Hot Spots and grab blue, purple, and gold weapons until you complete the challenge.

The best way to go about this is to scavenge a building or two in the Fortnite Hot Spot you've landed at, and then focus on those carrier drones that are flying around. The crates they carry usually contain a weapon, ammo, and some small consumable items, with a chance of getting some higher rarity weapons too - like normal, you can apply Fortnite weapon mods to these weapons if you can get to a bench. Just remember that all the extra loot available means these Hot Spots are often more tempting for players to pick as a landing zone, and by featuring in the weekly challenges they're only going to get busier, so be ready to fight!
