Former WWE Wrestler Nabs Role In Guardians Of The Galaxy
He’s set to play Drax The Destroyer
American mixed martial artist and former WWE champ Dave Bautista has been cast as Drax The Destroyer, in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy , according to The Hollywood Reporter .
In the Marvel comic book world, Drax was a human (Arthur Douglas) killed by Thanos but resurrected in a super-powered warrior's body, so that all links in with the Marvel movie shared universe, then. The role had been rumoured to be going to Game Of Thrones ’s Jason Momoa.
Bautista has been carving out a role as an actor with appearances in Smallville , The Scorpion King 3: Battle For Redemption and The Man with the Iron Fists . He’ll also be seen in the upcoming Riddick .
Chris Pratt has already been announced as playing Star Lord in the film, which will be directed by the amazing James Gunn ( Super ).
