Disney has launched the first teaser trailer for Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur, an animated feelgood movie that imagines an alternate history. As it stands, dinosaurs were wiped out by the aftereffects of an asteroid colliding with Earth. Suppose that incident never occurred and dinos were still roaming today? That terrifying notion of having to share a planet with raptors and tyrannosaurs is brought to life, albeit in a far more colorful and upbeat manner.
The movie follows Arlo, a cheery Apatosaurus who befriends a young boy after he becomes separated from his herd. Unlike Chris Pratt’s raptor tamer in Jurassic World the roles are reversed, with the looming dino taking the youngster under his wing. Check out the teaser below:
As expected from Pixar, this short-but-sweet tease emphasises all the elements we could hope for. While it doesn’t reveal much of the story, it cues up the fun tone and lively animation that director Peter Sohn has in store. The Land Before Time for a new generation, perhaps?
