First teaser lands for Ash Vs. Evil Dead: watch now

Get your boomsticks at the ready! Starz has dropped the first teaser for its forthcoming sequel series Ash Vs. Evil Dead ahead of the show’s debut on the network later this year. The show hails from the original Dead creators director Sam Raimi and producer Bob Tapert with Bruce Campbell back in the saddle as the titular Ash.

The ten-episode show will revolve around an older, grizzled version of the Deadite hunter. Still stocking shelves, Ash’s number is called when a Deadite plague hits and threatens to decimate all of mankind. Faced with a horde of demonic nasties on the verge of a global takeover, he must once more pick up the chainsaw and dish out some bloody justice.

He won’t face this battle alone with a raft of playmates enlisted to help him stop this terrible scourge. Ray Santiago steps up as his sidekick Pablo Simon Bolivar along with Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past.

Lucy Lawless will throw a spanner in the works as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks. In addition, Jill Marie Jones will be hunting him down as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper eager to prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner.

Check out the teaser below:

This first initial promo is stuffed with familiar sounds and key artwork that harks back to Ash’s previous encounters with the ancient evil ones. The buzz of his iconic chainsaw twinned with the sight of him launching it into the air are guaranteed to prepare viewers for the onslaught of bloodshed set to arrive this autumn.

Currently gearing up for production in New Zealand, Raimi is slated to direct the Ash Vs. Evil Dead pilot which he co-wrote with brother Ivan Raimi (Darkman) and Tom Spezialy (Reaper).
