First set photos from Daredevil season 2

After the first season of Marvel's Daredevil bowed to widespread critical acclaim, a second was ushered into development. Based on a new batch of snaps to hit the web, the sophomore season has already started shooting on the streets of New York, with two of the main cast pounding the pavements of Hell's Kitchen.

As you might expect, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) returns alongside Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson). The intrepid partners of Nelson & Murdock are front and center of the images, which you can check out below:

With the show's production kicking off earlier than expected, the first shots of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher could arrive in the coming weeks. His casting announcement last month was met with universal approval from fans of the show and comic. Castle is a tough vigilante whose crime-fighting techniques differ from Murdock's, so expect a bloody showdown between the two heroes.

Co-starring Deborah Ann Woll and Rosario Dawson, Daredevil season 2 is due to arrive on Netflix in 2016.
