Sony has postedthe first lengthy direct-feed video of Ratchet & Clank's latest outing on the PS3, giving us a much better look at the game's ambitious four-player co-op. And it looks like four times the regular madness and insanity of the last R&C title – confusing, overwhelming, and simply, totally Ratchet & Clank-like:
Developer Insomniac Games tried its hands at online Ratchety goodness with Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal on the PS2. The game was praised for online modes like Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, but its core storyline was relegated to the single-player game. Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, however, is all about co-op, and is the first multiplayer Ratchet experience on the PS3.
Above: If you thought shooting ridiculously-named, over-the-top flashy weapons with one character was cool, try multiplying it by four
All 4 One will, obviously, be playable with up to four players. How is that possiblein a game staunchly centered around just two characters? Two other characters, Captain Qwark and Dr. Nefarious, who have never been playable in the game's story mode, join the fray to complete the group. But who’s going to want to play as the unlucky third wheels? Or does that make four wheels… is four a party or a crowd? Either way, All 4 One won’t be out for about a year, so you have a while to think about it.
