First major Lord of the Rings Online update out June 14

The Lord of the Rings Online's first major content update will be released on June 14, Codemasters Online Gaming has informed us this afternoon.

Book 9: Shores of Evendim is a free update that features seven new collectible epic armor sets, over 100 new quests, the Raid in the Battle for Helegrod (which involves 24 players duffing up a dragon called Thorog in the Misty Mountains), updates to the game's music system that introduce percussion and bass instruments and a new music notation system that enables players to compose music offline and upload it to their character in-game, and finally opens up the Evendim area.

"About 100 miles north of the Shire, in northern Eriador, lies Evendim, a vast region dominated by the Lake Nenuial, the 'Lake of the Twilight'. On the southern shore, the ancient abandoned city of Ann%26uacute;minas - the former capital of the kingdom of Arnor is well known amongst the Free Peoples. For according to the Legends, amidst its ruins lay a great wealth and powerful artifacts now threatened by evil creatures and the nefarious forces lurking in Angmar," Codemasters Online Gaming explains.
