First look at Ryan Reynolds in new Deadpool costume

After a long time in development Tim Miller’s live-action Deadpool movie kicked off filming last week. To commemorate that momentous occasion the cast and crew has sneakily posted a few images from the set - but today brings the best yet.

In keeping with the spirit of Deadpool’s quippy, quirky nature actor Ryan Reynolds has posted the first snap of himself as the titular character to Twitter. Is he striking a threatening pose to a potential attacker? Or could he be about to unleash a verbal onslaught? Neither, apparently:

It seemed impossible for Deadpool to charm us even more, but the sight of Wade Wilson kitted out in his stretchy Lycra getup sprawled across a bearskin rug is simply divine. What’s killer about the specific pose Reynolds shares is that it’s actually a spoof of a Burt Reynolds photo shoot that the actor later referenced:

Nice.

Joining Reynolds (Ryan, that is) for the comic book caper are Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Ed Skrein. Deadpool opens on February 12, 2016.
