First image of Rupert Friend in Agent 47 arrives online
Meet the new Hitman
IGN has revealed a first image from the set of Agent 47 , giving us our first glimpse of Rupert Friend in the title role.
The new film is a reboot of the Hitman franchise, with Friend starring as the genetically engineered assassin originally played by Timothy Olyphant.
The role was initially to have been played by Paul Walker, until the actor’s untimely death prompted a rethink from studio bosses.
Given Friend’s sterling work on Homeland , we’re interested to see what he does with this one. Hopefully he will have better luck than Olyphant, with the original film having left both critics and audiences relatively cold…
Directed by Aleksander Bach and co-starring Zachary Quinto and Hannah Ware, Agent 47 has yet to receive an official release date, but is expected to arrive some time in 2015.
