First image of Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange
From WikiLeaks movie The Fifth Estate
Benedict Cumberbatch displays an uncanny resemblance to (a slightly younger) Julian Assange in the first image released from the WikiLeaks movie, The Fifth Estate .
Popping up on Business Wire , the official still also features Daniel Brühl as Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a web activist who was a spokesperson for WikiLeaks.
Previously known as The Man Who Sold The World , the film will look into how Assange’s organisation got hold of sensitive materials and secret files.
Bill Condon (no stranger to biopics with Gods And Monsters and Kinsey under his belt) will direct, returning to weightier territory after a brief diversion into the Twilight franchise with Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2 .
Also in the cast are Alicia Vikander (nominated for the 2013 EE Bafta Rising Star Award ), Carice van Houten ( Black Book , Game Of Thrones ) and Dan Stevens (of Downton Abbey fame).
